The National Assembly For Wales recognised that their pool of staff represented a powerful resource and wanted to conduct a skills audit to identify the breadth and depth of this resource.
Objective
To establish an understanding of employees existing skill set which will ensure efficient selecting and targeting of future training programmers.
Approach
The skills audit was conducted via a web survey which was designed and hosted by Turquoise. Employees had a choice of conducting the skills audit in either English or Welsh.
Insight
The results are being used by the strategic planning unit within HR to review and structure staff training needs for the next 5 years. Our research findings form part of a new initiative to promote self assessment amongst assembly staff, encouraging everyone to be proactive in shaping their individual career progressions and exploring ongoing training needs.
