Developing an updated Water Resources Management Plan

Water Resources North approached us for support in the development of an updated Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP). The scope included assessing customers’ and stakeholders’ views of what a best value plan would look like, identifying drivers of investment, and determining how these factors should be prioritised to ensure a lasting supply of water in the future.

Methodology

A number of our core qualitative techniques were employed via focus groups, questionnaires, and educational videos which were professionally filmed and produced by Turquoise. The combination of these methods allowed for enhanced understanding of the topic and encouraged deeper exploration, yielding greater insights.

This approach was used simultaneously with our unique Triple Nexus Model, enabling Water Resources North to achieve a thorough and robust understanding of customer sentiment and behaviour.

Outcome

Turquoise delivered insights that helped WReN enhance its WRMP by focusing on leakage reduction and water efficiency, improving water supply reliability and sustainability.

The research also highlighted opportunities for cost-effective water trading, enabling WReN to reduce customer bills while supporting environmental goals, ultimately boosting service value and customer satisfaction.
