
East Anglian Air Ambulance has provided helicopter emergency medical service since 2000. The service saves lives by delivering highly skilled doctors and critical care paramedics to those who need them. In order to continue this mission, EAAA partnered with Turquoise to establish what the population know and value about the charity and how best to motivate supporters to take action.
We conducted a combined methodological approach using online panels, on-street interviews and email surveys, covering all areas where EAAA had flight operations (in and out of area), this enabled us to reach a more robust and representative sample and provide insights from existing supporters (from the clients’ database) as well as those from the general population within the catchment area.
EAAA was able to use the research findings to help develop their marketing communication strategy with the potential for improving awareness and encouraging support. The insights we delivered highlighted the importance of increasing the perception of the value of the work EAAA do, therefore this will be a key component moving forwards.
Discovering where awareness levels were low within the heartland of EAAA enabled greater strategic targeting to those areas to facilitate an increase in awareness and understanding of what the charity does, and showcase the value of their service.
