Public consultation for a new market square

Northampton Borough Council requested the support of Turquoise to conduct a public consultation on three new visions for Northampton Market Square. New positioning for market stalls, stepped seating, event space, trees, and an interactive water feature were all included in the proposed redesign.

"

Turquoise was a pleasure to work with and provided invaluable support to us. They helped us find a quick and effective solution to our problem and were very responsive and adaptive.

Methodology

During the six-week consultation period residents were invited to have their say via different routes. Survey links were published in the local press and on the Council's website and distributed to Northampton University and across social media. We also organised an event in the square where surveys were completed on tablets.

Outcome

A total of 1,069 members of the public contributed their views across all research channels, which enabled Turquoise to recommend the most popular design option along with insights into positive sentiment and key concerns. This allowed Northampton Borough Council to move forward with their bid to secure funds for the rejuvenation.

Our unique approach

The Triple Nexus Model

Whether we are helping councils to understand and predict customer behaviour, driving smarter data-driven strategy, or driving organisational change, our unique model helps deliver scientifically superior results.

Know

Know what people think, better than they know themselves. Our model uniquely unearths subconscious psychological factors that influence customer feelings and behaviours.

Validate

Our model validates deeper methodological and contextual factors behind the data, not just the data itself, which helps uncover truly relevant insight while minimising noise.

Predict

Our unique model allows organisations to accurately predict market and customer behaviour, helping to power genuinely forward-thinking strategy and decision making.
